Seven Smithtown Officials Endorse Altschuler

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friday, June 4, 2010

Farmingville, NY: Randy Altschuler, the conservative Republican candidate for Congress (NY-1), was endorsed today by seven officials from the Town of Smithtown. Altschuler, a successful self-made businessman resides with his wife and son in St. James which is located within the boundaries of Smithtown and is considered the frontrunner in the race to become the standard-bearer of the Suffolk County Republican Committee.

The officials endorsing Altschuler were: Councilman Robert J. Creighton, Councilman Kevin J. Malloy, Councilman Thomas J. McCarthy, Councilman Edward R. Wertheim, Town Clerk Vincent Puleo, Superintendent of Highways Glenn Jorgensen and Receiver of Taxes Deanna Varricchio.

The officials jointly released the following statement:

"Today, with the withdrawal of Assemblyman Mike Fitzpatrick from the race, it has become obvious that Randy Altschuler is the only Republican who can defeat Congressman Tim Bishop in November. Randy Altschuler's life experience, private sector skills and belief in conservative Republican principles makes him uniquely qualified to be our standard-bearer. His campaign has the message, resources and momentum needed to win. As a proven job creator and believer in the free enterprise system, Randy will be able to take Tim Bishop to task for his support of the big spending, high taxing, job killing agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama. Randy Altschuler can be the next Congressman from the 1st Congressional District. We urge all Republicans and Conservatives to join us in supporting him."

Randy Altschuler said, "I want to thank each of the seven Smithtown elected officials who endorsed me today. They understand I have what it takes to be their next Congressman. In the weeks and months ahead I will work hard to prove them right. During the campaign I will be a vocal advocate for the fiscal responsibility that is lacking in Congress today. I will fight for less spending, lower taxes, shrinking the deficit and putting an end to the dysfunction and culture of corruption that envelopes Congress. With the support of the Republican and Conservative Parties I will defeat Tim Bishop in November."

The Town of Smithtown is home to over 22,200 registered Republicans and over 2,000 registered Conservatives.
