FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, September 30, 2009

EAST SETAUKET, NY: John Faso, former State Assembly GOP Leader and 2006 Republican and Conservative Party Gubernatorial candidate, announced on Tuesday that he is endorsing Randy Altschuler for US Congress.

"I am very pleased to endorse Randy Altschuler for Congress in New York's First Congressional District," Faso said. "Randy is an entrepreneur with a compelling personal story and impressive business credentials. He is a proven job creator who has worked hard to provide affordable health care and hundreds of jobs for New York families.
"I personally know and admire Randy Altschuler. He knows first-hand how to build a business and create jobs. He has precisely the type of private sector experience which is sorely lacking in Congress, on both sides of the aisle. Randy would be an outstanding congressman for Long Island and New York State. We need his voice in Congress," Faso concluded.
"From the floor of the New York State Assembly to his hard fought state-wide campaigns, John Faso has always been guided by his common-sense principles and integrity. John has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of all New Yorkers," Randy Altschuler said. "I am honored to receive John's endorsement and I look forward to his advice and counsel as we move forward."

John Faso, a Long Island native who resides in Columbia County, served in the New York State Assembly from 1987-2002, rising to the position of Republican Leader in 1998. Faso was the Republican and Conservative Party gubernatorial nominee in 2006 against Eliot Spitzer.

Randy Altschuler is a businessman, former Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School. He is married to Cheryl Altschuler, MD, a practicing pediatrician in Shirley and Port Jefferson, New York. They have a young son, Noah, and reside in St. James, New York.
