On this day across our country we reflect upon the sacrifices made by the more than 23 million heroes among us who proudly carry the title of United States Veteran.

While recognized in holiday, the solemn dedication of this courageous group of individuals should be felt by every American, everyday. The very freedoms and liberties we maintain are guaranteed and perpetuated by the selfless and honorable sacrifices made by the members of our Armed Forces. We understand that the sacrifices they have made are impossible to repay.

From those members of the greatest generation who served in World War II, to the men and women who defend our freedom in Afghanistan and Iraq today, the very least they deserve is the respect and admiration of their fellow countrymen.

May God bless our veterans and continue to guide and protect our nation's Armed Forces stationed at home and abroad.
