Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick Endorses Randy Altschuler for Congress FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EAST SETAUKET, NY: Michael J. Fitzpatrick, New York State Assemblyman and former Smithtown Town Councilman, announced on Thursday that he is endorsing Randy Altschuler for US Congress in New York's First Congressional District. Assemblyman Michael Fitzpatrick was elected in 2002 to represent the town of Smithtown, and portions of Brookhaven and Islip, in the New York State Assembly. Assemblyman Fitzpatrick serves as the ranking minority member on the Assembly Housing Committee and holds memberships on the Assembly Local Governments, Small Business and Higher Education committees. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Mr. Fitzpatrick represented the residents of Smithtown as a member of the Smithtown Town Council for 15 years. Randy Altschuler is a businessman, former Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School.
