Why Won't Our Congressman Tell Obama & Pelosi "Stop the Insanity"

Randy Altschuler, the conservative Republican candidate for Congress (NY-1), today called on four term liberal Congressman Tim Bishop to end his silence and speak out against "the reckless and dangerous spending" of the Obama administration. Altschuler was referring to a request made by President Obama over the weekend for Congress to authorize $50 billion in new spending.

Randy Altschuler said, "Our national debt hovers at a staggering $13 trillion and over the weekend President Obama asked Nancy Pelosi and her allies in Congress to authorize another $50 billion in new spending. If we care about our nation's fiscal well being, the reckless and dangerous spending must end. We need a budget that reflects the tough economic times in which we live and in turn, sets us on the road to recovery by reining-in spending, cutting taxes and shrinking the deficit.

"What is equally disturbing is the fact that while Congress burns through trillions of dollars, our Congressman, Tim Bishop, remains silent. It seems he lacks the fortitude to tell President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of his Democrat colleagues to stop the insanity! An insanity that is breaking the back of the American taxpayer and mortgaging the future of generations to come.

"In Congress I'll fight for fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and the simple belief that government can't spend more than it takes in. I'm an outsider, a businessman, not a career politician and unlike Tim Bishop I'll speak out against the leadership of either political party if they squander our tax dollars."
